Hello everyone, welcome to the Chinese Friendship Association of Portland Healthcare and Free Consultation Group. The Chinese Friendship Association of Portland （CFAP） is a 501(c)(3) non-for-profit organization. We have been serving the Chinese American and other communities in needs for 30 years. During the pandemic, we have hosted and co-hosted 68 vaccine clinics, providing a total of 6,400 vaccine doses to the community members in need. Currently, we’re partnering with the Oregon Heath Authority to assist with the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) and Health Insurance Marketplace application under the Affordable Care Act also known as “Obamacare” health insurance and we’re here to help you apply for health insurance as your Assisters. Our primary focus is for anyone who doesn’t have medical insurance through work or Medicare after retirement.
It is important to note that when purchasing health insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace, you don’t need to pay any service fees to brokers or agents. This service is completely free.
As a trained, and certified professional Assisters, we don’t recommend individuals applying for health insurance on their own. Let me tell you the reason.
First, this is a cost-free service. Our professional Assisters are happy to assist you with your application while doing it online on your own might take you at least 30 minutes to an hour, even for those with a good command of the English language.
Second, if you haven’t received professional training, you might make errors while filling out and submitting your information which might potentially delay the insurance approval process or affecting your medical coverage.
Third, when you have professional assisters helping you with your Healthcare.Gov account, we can help you navigate how to make changes such as updating your address, doctor, plan, or other details. This can be handled by contacting us. We will help you taking care of it, saving you a lot of extra time and work
Fourth, we specialize in serving the needs of Chinese American and other communities, especially those with limited English proficiency. Navigating professional hospital and websites and making phone calls in English can be challenging for some. As professional Assisters, we can help you overcome these language barriers. We can assist you in finding doctors, locating the nearest emergency centers to your home, and handle all your concerns efficiently.
Fifth, we can contact Oregon Marketplace directly to help resolvingany concerns you might have.
Additionally, we also offer services at the convenience of your work or home with flexible scheduling and multiple language options.
